Europe's leading provider of TV & Film facilities and services
Company history
Created in 1983 by Jean-Pierre Barry, Chantal Barry and Luc Geoffroy, Euro Media Television has become over the years a major player in the broadcast services and facilities market.
Thanks to its acquisition of “Studios de France” (50,000m²) in 1988, EMT offers its clients a complete audiovisual services package from sound stage shooting to post-production facilities, including Outdoor Broadcast Vans.
In 1995, EMT further broadened its scope by acquiring “Arpajon Studios” (20,000m²) located south of Paris, thus covering all segments of the film and audiovisual industry (TV, Commercials and Feature Films) with indoor and outdoor filming as well as film studio rentals.
The acquisition of the “Arc en Ciel Studios” (13,000m²) in 1997 enables the Group to capture live TV entertainment and game shows (Carte aux Trésors, Loft Story, Star Academy, etc.) and thereby gain a significant portion of the audiovisual market.
In 2000, the company revived the former Victorine Studios in Nice by launching “Riviera Studios”, a concession management company with an 18 year contract. The studios, located on 7 hectares, include 10 stages, production offices, dressing and make-up rooms, green rooms, storage space, a restaurant as well as more than 40 companies on site specialized in film, audiovisual and multimedia production.
In 2001, EMT and the Bolloré Group acquired SFP (Société Française de Production), thereby climbing to the top of the audiovisual services markets in France with several successive acquisitions:
- SFP: a unique savoir-faire in long-distance HF broadcasts and solid experience in TV Dramas, including co-production capabilities.
- 2003 VCF: renowned know-how in the broadcasting of major sports events
- 2006 > Tatou: camera equipment rentals
- 2006 > Livetools Technology: specialized in R & D for HF broadcasts
- 2007 > DVS: European specialists in slow motion broadcasts
- 2008 > Transpalux: lighting and grip equipment
In September 2007, the French Euro Media Television company and the Dutch UBF Media Group officially announced the merger of their respective groups at the IBC Trade Show held at the RAI in Amsterdam, which has been renamed "The Euro Media Group". This partnership has created a major European player in services and facilities provider market, with estimated annual earnings of 300 million euros, holding leadership positions in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Holland and Belgium. Jean-Pierre Barry, founder of Euro Media Télévision, was appointed CEO of the new group. Euro Media Television Group shareholders were joined by UBF Media Group, Sofinim (Ackermans & Van Haaren) and Allianz Capital Partners shareholders.
Based on the expertise of both companies, a wide variety of services is available, including SD and HD OB trucks, stages (the biggest selection in France), specific research projects, customized technical engineering and complete integrated solutions, imaging and sound post-production units, webcasting, set design and construction workshops, furniture, props and accessories for filming and stage rental services.
Consequently, Euro Media Group is capable of managing any audiovisual project from A to Z, from Sports coverage to live TV shows or TV Dramas, thanks to its multi-production capacities, its technical expertise and quality crews.
