Traditionally, Bach’s St. Matthew Passion (or Matthäus-Passion to give it its original German title) is performed throughout the Netherlands at Easter.
This year, Dutch evangelical broadcaster EO asked UBF’s multi-camera unit Cinevideogroup to take care of a special TV recording of this classical masterpiece, to be broadcast from the huge St. Clemens church in Steenwijk, Overijssel.
This particular rendition is in Dutch, and was performed by The Bach Choir and Orchestra of the Netherlands conducted by Pieter Jan Leusink.
Cinevideogroup used 9 cameras in HD.
The UBF unit already takes care of another EO programme, Nederland Zingt, so has built up quite some expertise in the field of classical music.
