A new Dutch TV show, The Voice Kids, gives children between the ages of 6 and 14 a chance to share their singing talents with the whole of Holland.
The programme is a kids’ version of the popular The Voice of Holland, a show that has been imitated in many different countries.
Kids who are lucky enough to make it through the first selection round will appear in The Blind Auditions - with its famous spinning chairs - and the three top talents will fight for a place in the final in The Battle.
United’s multicamera unit has already been involved in the excitement; 11 of its cameras were used to record The Blind Auditions, and a further 15 for The Battle.
The programme was mixed in the outside broadcast van but all sources were recorded separately for editing. Beta tapes were used at the request of the show’s producer, Talpa.
The young talents are being coached in February, and The Voice Kids finals will be held in March.
