On 15th May, the Europa League final for the 2012-21013 season will be played in the Amsterdam ArenA: the first European football final to be played on Dutch soil since 2006. On behalf of Infostrada Sports Group, United will play the role of host broadcaster for the match.
In OB14 - the HD-production truck which has been specially developed for the recording of major sporting events, live events and concerts - the director has the choice of signals from 35 cameras including wireless cameras, cranes, steady-cams and cameras on rails, alongside fixed cameras. Thirteen LSM’s will be used: thanks to the large scale of the production, the slowmo positions will be built outside of the production truck in a ‘slowmo palace’.
The sound will be recorded in Dolby, in accordance with UEFA’s requirements. The OB14 will make a feed available for foreign clients and for Dutch broadcaster RTL. United is to build 70-80 commentary positions in the stadium. SNGs will be used for additional client-requested feeds. In total, more than 80 United personnel are involved in this huge project.
