This evening, the English football club Arsenal will enter the pitch of the Stade Velodrome for a Champions League match against OM. You can follow the encounter on Canal+ at 8:45PM but what you won’t see is how hard Euro Media France teams worked to prepare this match amidst the stadium’s renovation work!
While 4 cranes currently tower over the sports grounds, 60 fiber-optic connections were pulled in, to transmit the video and audio signals from the 25 cameras positioned within the stadium to the XXL1 OB truck. On site our teams demonstrated their resourcefulness when laying down the cables while avoiding the work areas (the commentator booth is for example 600m away from the OB truck!)
There will be an OB truck equipped for double production: Jean-Jaques Amsellem will produce the international signal for the UEFA while Laurent Lachand will produce the private signal for Canal+. The XXL3 OB truck also made the trip to produce the graphics for BeIn sport and Al-Jazeera. Finally, the C-Cast, the DVS5 OB unit, a SuperloupeTM and 5 loupes from DVS will round off the technical requirements for this evening.
