One of the most spectacular assignments that Dutch United is proud to get each year has got to be Wie is de Mol? / Who is the Mole? (WIDM).
The programme revolves around a game in which the candidates have to work together to earn money. One of them is ‘the mole’, who secretly sabotages the game. He or she must be uncovered by the candidates. In each episode, one of the players leaves. The fourteenth exciting season of this programme was seen on Dutch television up until 20th March. For this edition, a United crew travelled to Hong Kong and the Philippines in order to record the game under the leadership of the WIDM director, Rick McCullough. The tasks, thought up by the production team, were set in great locations and, as in previous years, they provided the crew and technicians with stiff challenges. As far as possible, United used its own equipment for WIDM.Dozens of numbered trunks went as cargo to Hong Kong. The equipment in these trunks was already at the hotel by the time the crew arrived with the fragile cameras, sound sets and transmitters, which were taken as hand luggage. This meant they could begin recording straight away.Alongside the WIDM team, United Post-production again got the best out of the recordedmaterial with a full package of montage, colour grading and audio post-production work. Successfully: the programme attracted around 2.5 million viewers weekly, a huge number of viewers for the Netherlands.
