EUROMEDIA, the leading French broadcast services provider is currently overhauling its technical vehicles and cameras and has recently acquired the first Sony HDC-4300 camera in France for its slow-motion applications.
This is one of the world’s first cameras to be equipped with three authentic (2/3inch) 4K image sensors. It can provide both HD and Ultra HD 4K prestige image capture and offers top-level 4K or HD capabilities for live coverage of events. Its outstanding images give the impression of really being part of the action. Due to its depth of field none of the action details are overlooked during live production shooting of sports and entertainment events.
EUROMEDIA has also acquired the SZC-4002 licence, which makes it possible to increase the standard replay capacity of the HDC-4300 (3x) up to 8x HD high frame rate meaning that slow motion shooting in full HD (1920 x 1080) can therefore attain up to 400 fps. These high speed images known as HFR (High frame rate) can be recorded on Sony’s 4K/HD PWS-4400 live server system in order to obtain high quality slow motion replays thanks to the XAVC recording format.
Lionel Vialaneix, President of EUROMEDIA voiced his satisfaction: « EUROMEDIA is able to provide its clients with cutting-edge technology and the purchase of this first HDC-4300 camera shows that we continue to be trailblazers when it comes to technological innovations. From Saturday 04 July the camera will be present at every stage of the 2015 Tour de France, ready to shoot images of the riders as they cross the finish lines and let’s hope it will be filming many French cyclists raising their arms in victory as they win the various stages ».
Gaël Tanguy, EUROMEDIA’s Technical Director added: « The HDC-4300 camera can be seamlessly integrated with infrastructures and HD accessories, as well as 4K live production workflows. Because it integrates with existing workflows and is simple to use for operators and cameramen, it can be up and running rapidly.»
Norbert Paquet, Strategic Marketing Manager for Sony Europe: « The HDC-4300 is an example of the technological innovations available for live production shooting, providing the best quality images available today and at the same time offering service providers like Euromedia greater flexibility and ease of use in order to cover the widest range of events possible. »
This camera system will be operating as a slow motion camera to cover sporting events exclusively and will be present at the next football and rugby championships season starting in August.
