René studied business and management at the Rotterdam University. His track record contains several organizational change projects.
He had several functions within KPN Telecom (1991-1999) where he was, among others, involved in the introduction of broadband internet in the Netherlands and the realization of the e-commerce strategy of KPN. At NOB (1999-2003) he was responsible for the turnaround of their Radio and Television Division.
This turnaround included the establishment of Dutchview, Ciris and Technicolor and the sale of Cinevideogroup. In 2005 Rene became the COO of UBF Media Group where he was responsible for the performance of the operating companies. After a small sidestep into online music Rene became the Director of Operations of United in 2010.
